Journal Entry 08: Reflections on Our Launch Weekend

We are slowly coming back down to earth here at the studio. After weeks of sketching concepts, sourcing from incredible independent suppliers, and whispering our dreams into existence, the very first official Falkner Flowers weekend is officially in the books. To say we are feeling overwhelmed with gratitude would be a massive understatement.

To every single person who placed a pre-order, shared our posts, sent a frantic DM to grab one of our final secret spots, or cheered us on from afar—thank you from the absolute bottom of our hearts. You didn’t just buy a bouquet; you believed in our dream and trusted us to bring life, texture, and ritual into your favorite home corners.

Studio Helpers and Neighborhood Delivery Runs

When we first envisioned Falkner Flowers, we knew we wanted to do things differently. We wanted to step entirely away from the uninspiring, mass-produced, plastic-wrapped flowers sitting under harsh supermarket lights. Our goal was to bring slow, artist-led, and entirely zero-waste floristry straight to the heart of the neighborhood.

It really was a team effort getting this first batch out the door. We even had our resident studio assistant, Roma Kenny (the lovely dog we share with our wonderful neighbor), keeping us company and making sure studio morale stayed high through all the late-night stem prepping.

From the studio floor to your front steps, we loved building our little community on the go, meeting you at your front doors, and officially kickstarting what we hope becomes your favorite fortnightly routine.

A Celestial Surprise: The Blue Moon Curation

If you were lucky enough to secure a bunch from this inaugural release, you might have spotted a few unexpected, striking blue stems nestled deep into your arrangement.

We don't believe in static, copy-and-paste floristry. Our designs are intentionally curated to change with the seasons, the local atmosphere, and in this weekend's case - the cosmos. We wove those midnight-blue notes into the design as a secret tribute to the rare Blue Moon. It means that this specific batch was entirely unique to this exact moment in time. Once it’s gone, it’s truly gone. No two drops will ever be the same, and we love that your flowers carry a story that belongs strictly to the weekend you bought them.

What’s Next? (Prepping for the Next Chapter)

We managed to stretch our absolute limits to deliver 22 beautiful, thick, luxurious bunches for the launch, and every single one found a home. But we aren’t stopping there.

Ditching the supermarket wrap and building this movement is officially underway. We are already back in the studio, scheming, sourcing, and dreaming up the palette for Batch No. 2.
